Riverside Development Proposed

In 2010, BH Normandy Riverside LLC proposed construction of a mixed-use project called The Station at Riverside, to be built on land now used for parking at the Riverside MBTA station.

The portion of the site proposed for development is separated from the Charles River by the existing MBTA maintenance building, which will remain. But the Newton Conservators believes that the construction of the proposed development provides an opportunity for the public to seek government commitment and private funding for improved trail access along the Charles, as well as connections between the MBTA station and the Charles River trail network, including the proposed rail trail between Riverside and Newton Lower Falls.
